Guardian piece on the increasing abuse of ADHD drugs to function. There are large ethical questions as to why we tolerate illegal psychoactive drugs by the rich and thus powerful than the poor. Some would argue that stopping the abuse of judgement altering chemicals is more important for those who have greater effects on the lives of others.
Of course, we also should address the use of children as unwitting test subjects for the long-term test subjects of psychiatric medication, or the indoctrination of getting kids to take things to modify their behaviour and to make them think better. But there’s a lot here that is way too emotive for me to talk about.
